Description

Superior Construction Services played a critical role in the construction of this pump station facility, a key component in supporting midstream services for Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) producers. The facility serves as a vital link within the 440-mile Arbuckle North Pipeline, enabling the efficient transportation of NGL products from Oklahoma to major market hubs in Conway, KS and Mont Belvieu, TX, where they are processed, stored, and distributed.

Our scope of work included the installation of more than 180 support piers designed to support the facility’s power distribution systems and Control and Telecommunications Systems (CTS). A strong emphasis was placed on subgrade preparation, including the placement of engineered structural fill to establish a stable base and ensure long-term performance of the concrete foundations.

Due to the nature of the site—including active operations in a brownfield environment—safety and coordination were paramount. The project required careful navigation of hazardous areas containing highly pressurized NGL lines, where any misstep could create significant risk. Superior worked closely with inspectors and project stakeholders to coordinate permitting, manage work in controlled zones, and maintain strict adherence to safety protocols throughout construction.

Within the brownfield area, our team constructed critical foundations supporting the NGL mainline, station valve, and header system—a key manifold responsible for directing flow into the pumps while maintaining system pressure.

Precision was essential across all aspects of the project. The facility included the installation of multiple pieces of prefabricated equipment, including pumps, strainers, and pressure control systems, all of which required exact alignment with anchor bolts and foundations. Superior achieved this level of accuracy through the use of advanced total station technology, delivering layout precision within 1/8” over distances up to 1,000 feet.

By combining technical expertise, rigorous safety practices, and advanced layout capabilities, Superior delivered a high-performance foundation system that met the demands of a complex and high-risk industrial environment.
