Assistant Superintendent - Concrete
Description
Provide support to Project Managers/Estimators, Site Superintendents, and office personnel to ensure smooth project execution from beginning to end.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide daily support as necessary to Project Estimators/Managers and Site Superintendents
- Establish project equipment needs with Project Manager
- Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure each project is properly staffed with personnel and equipment
- Visit each project site prior to the commencement of construction, and communicate areas that might be impacted by the construction
- Coordinate with Project Manager the mobilization and demobilization of the project
- Schedule and monitor material procurement, deliveries and onsite inventory
- Manage rentals and Superior’s equipment & tools by ensuring proper maintenance, regular inventory, proper use, and communicate deliveries and pickups
- Assist in creating, maintaining and updating projects schedules as they relate to work in progress and the completion of the project. Ensure assigned tasks are finished accordingly.
- Represent Superior in all actions onsite with subcontractors, site inspections and owner representatives
- Schedule and verify subcontractor/vendor tasks performed according to scope of work with Project Manager
- Give input, when requested, to the Project Manager in the creations and/or modification of accurate subcontract agreements or purchase orders
- Supervise and schedule field employees and/or other on-site company personnel. Assist in management for productivity of field employees, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project with input from Site Superintendent.
- Participate in jobsite meetings
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed to ensure it is built per plans and specifications
- Assist Site Superintendent to maintain the progress of the work in accordance with the constructions schedule
- Review project budget and assist Project Manager in job cost control
- Produce and manage 2 week look ahead schedules with input of Site Superintendent to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate a solution
- Report all project delays to the Project Manager and propose solutions with minimum impact to the project schedule with input gathered from Site Superintendent
- Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required
- Maintain communication with other departments (PMs, Operations, Safety, etc.) to ensure all company policies are being followed
- Ability to collect, complete and submit paperwork (Daily Reports, Time Sheets, Safety Meetings, Equipment Returns/Rentals, Delivery Tickets, Extra Work Tickets etc.) in timely manner
- Manage project action item punch list
- Coordinate with safety department to put in place safety measures associated with site safety control
- Maintain a safe work site by implementing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits and observing OSHA, MSHA and any state-level agencies` regulations
- Properly communicate, assist and control jobsite near misses, accidents and injuries
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to manage the change order process by being aware of potential cost impacts, promptly submit scope changes, and estimate schedule impacts to each change order
- Assist the Project Manager in acquiring information for the project status report
- Ensure job close-out procedures are followed and verifies its completion
- Seek input from all Superior departments on how to improve the process, project, company, etc.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed
- Must be able to travel up to 100% throughout Texas, and occasionally out of state, as needed, but will be based out of our Italy office

Experience and Education Required
Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred
- Previous construction internship preferred
- Must have the ability to operate an automobile, have a valid state approved driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and on-going random drug testing
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
Industry Knowledge:
- Knowledge of concrete construction methods
- Ability to read & interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Proficient computer skills in programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Mathematical skills with the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must know standard conversions used in the construction industry.
- Proficient with construction tools and equipment related to concrete scope of work
- Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations preferred

Foreman – Concrete
Description
The Concrete Foreman will be responsible for directing and supervising a variety of tasks including the planning, lay-out, installation of rebar, embeds and anchor bolts for installation of concrete structures in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. The Foreman will also plan and coordinate the efforts of the lead men and craft workers under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently. A great attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail and safety protocols are essential to success in this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all activities pertaining to concrete construction work including dividing projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor, material and equipment are required for each stage.
- Maintain accurate records of the number of hours worked and the amount of materials used for each project.
- Assign, coordinate and supervise daily activities of up to 15 craft workers.
- Verify delivery of materials as to condition, quality and compliance.
- Ensure that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
- Inspect concrete after the formwork and shoring have been removed and instruct crew on how to correct defects and concrete imperfections.
- Maintain good communication with crew, superintendents, project managers, and clients at all times.
- Ability to establish and shoot elevations.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with the contract documents.
- Ensure the effective use and maintenance of all jobsite equipment, and jobsite security.
- Appraise performance of crew personnel and make recommendations as to advancement, promotion, firing or other change status.
- Provide leadership that results in a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.
- Resolve all problems that may affect project quality and completion.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed.
- Must be able to travel up to 100% throughout Texas, and occasionally out of state, as needed.

Multi-Craftsman
Summary
The Concrete Multi-Craftsman will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: rod busting, carpentry, form setting and wrecking, concrete pouring and finishing, operating heavy machinery, and following all site health and safety regulations. A great attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail and safety protocols are essential to success in this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Select, cut, and construct lumber and other structural components using manual and power tools.
- Assist in building scaffolding, and bracing along with any other temporary structures.
- Install and tie rebar as illustrated in plan or as directed by supervisor.
- Assemble and install pre-engineered forming systems
- Set anchor bolts and embeds.
- Inspect forming and bracing to ensure they are suitable for the pour at hand.
- Pour concrete and vibrate, screed, or trowel to ensure proper concrete settling and prepare surface as necessary or as described in plan.
- Operate Equipment (forklift, skidsteer, backhoe, excavator work, etc.)

CDL Class A Driver
Summary
The Semi Truck Driver will be responsible for safely transporting equipment and materials to and from various locations without incident. This position involves local and long-distance hauling as well as loading, unloading and securing the cargo safely. This position will also be responsible for adhering to DOT standards and guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver equipment and materials via flatbed and step deck trailers.
Safely load/off-load heavy equipment and materials. - Secure cargo for transport, using straps, ropes, blocks, chain, or binders.
- When necessary, obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain daily records or pre-trip/post-trip inspection of vehicle and accurate mileage log books in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
- Communicate with dispatch to ensure equipment and materials are delivered on-time and as efficiently as possible
- Keep trucks clean and in orderly condition.
- Assist maintenance with minor repairs as needed.
- Properly follow all DOT, Company and OHSA/MSHA regulations for a safe working environment.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% throughout Texas, and occasionally out of state, as needed, but will be based out of our Italy office.

Where is my jobsite located?
Wherever the job takes us. We have job sites all over the United States, but the primary location is Italy, TX.
Do I need any tools, equipment, or gear to start?
You’ll need steel toe boots, long sleeve shirts, long pants, and a great attitude. We’ll provide you with the following PPE: hard hat, gloves, Superior t-shirts, and vest.
